Hope for Dillon
Dillon was born on August 12, 1987 here in Bellingham. He was raised here in the county and attended school in the Meridian District where he met his wife. They start dating in 2004 and were married in 2019. He’s a hardworking man, a father, and someone who has always taken pride in showing up and doing what needs to be done. He’s spent his life working in concrete construction — long days, early mornings, physical work — the kind of work that builds things that last. That same steady, hardworking nature is exactly who he is at home, too. He’s a proud dad to three incredible kids — a son (20) and two daughters (17 and 18). Being there for them, providing for them, and supporting them has always been at the center of his life.In 2019, everything changed. Dillon was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). Since then, life hasn’t been simple. It’s been a road of treatments, hospital stays, appointments, and a lot of unknowns. There have been ups and downs, moments of hope, and moments where things felt really heavy. This isn’t just a story about illness — it’s about what life looks like when everything gets harder, and you keep going anyway. Because that’s what Dillon does. He keeps showing up. Even on the days when he’s exhausted. Even when his body is worn down. Even when things feel uncertain. He still thinks about his kids. He still puts his family first. He still carries himself with the same quiet strength he always has. That’s who he is. Steady. Strong. Dependable. And like many families walking through something like this, the impact reaches far beyond just the medical side. What was once two full-time incomes has shifted to one, and the day-to-day has changed in ways we never expected. As Dillon focuses on treatment and recovery, I’ve stepped into a different role — balancing being the primary provider, caregiver, and the one helping hold everything together at home for our kids. It’s a balance that’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived it. And while we continue to do everything we can, it’s a reminder of how much support truly matters during times like this. But the truth is, no one can go through something like this alone. And that’s where this community comes in. An Evening of Hope for Dillon is about people coming together — from all walks of life — to stand beside someone who has spent his life standing for others. Whether you work with your hands, in an office, or anywhere in between… this is something we can all understand: Taking care of your family. Showing up when it matters. Doing your best, even when it’s hard. This event is a way to support Dillon and our family in a very real, tangible way. Every ticket. Every donation. Every bid. Every share. It all helps. But just as important as the financial support — it’s about something bigger than that. It’s about showing Dillon that people have his back. That he’s not doing this alone. That the same kind of strength he’s given to others is now being returned to him. If you’re here reading this, you’re already part of that. And we are so grateful for you.
